Fine heritage streetscapes are being destroyed

I read that the Opera House in Kharkiv was bombed along with nearby Freedom Square. The attached image shows a street in the Opera House neighbourhood. A whole way of life is being systematically destroyed. This is a horror unfolding before our very eyes. So very disheartening.

Many towns and cities in the Ukraine have retained many examples of functioning, heritage neighbourhoods. As the invasion continues, many of these wonderful places are being lost. All too sad to contemplate.

Mothers: just can't live without 'em

The ground at the park was wet and spongy. The boys' scooters sank into the soft ground. The boys took off and left the problem scooters for mom to deal with, as she surely does with dozens of other problems every day. Mothers, we don't give 'em the appreciation they deserve when we are young.

March has come in like a lion

Today winds were gusting to 100 km/h and even down in the river valley the winds were hitting 80 km/h and higher

So far, March is living up to its reputation. It comes in like a lion. Whether or not it will leave like a lamb is a wait-and-see situation.

This lady's hair, like many strollers today, was a blowin' in the wind.

Big dog, litte lady; tiny dog, big man

The moment I saw this couple out walking their dogs, I knew I had a picture. The lady is walking the big dog while the man is walking the tiny dog. Seeing this I smiled and I haven't smiled a lot lately.
